Eid al-Fitr - also written as Eid ul Fitr - means Festival of the Breaking of the Fast.

This Eid comes after Ramadan, the month of fasting, and is on the first day of the next month, Shawwal.

2. Muslims around the world will celebrate Eid ul-Fitr, a festival that marks the end of Ramadan
3. Eid ul-Fitr doesn't begin until the new moon appears in the sky
4. The festival traditionally lasts for three days
5. Muslims greet by saying "Eid Mubarak," which means "Have a blessed Eid!"
6. Eid ul Fitr originated in Medina after the migration of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Mecca.
7. Since Islamic Calendar is lunar and Gregorian calendar is solar, Eid falls approximately 11 days earlier each year
8. To recite on the way to the Eid Prayers: “Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Laa ilaaha illa-llahu Wa-llahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, WA lillahil Hamd.” which means “Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. There is no deity besides Allah and Allah is the greatest. Allah is the greatest and all praises are for Allah only.”
